Children's Fitness Tax Credit
Children's Fitness Tax Credit Information for organizations providing prescribed programs of physical activity. Although the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) administers the children's fitness tax credit, organizations are in the best position to determine if the programs they offer qualify as prescribed programs of physical activity for the purposes of the credit. This page contains information that will help you determine whether the programs you offer meet the requirements for the tax credit, and will also help you calculate the amount of eligible fitness expenses. Note: A receipt does not guarantee the eligibility of a program. Fitness Tax Cedit Form CRA - Children's Fitness Amount |
Hello Everyone.
I'd like to start by thanking ALL PARENTS AND VOLUNTEERS for their unstinting
commitment and huge contribution to the success of our recent trip to Michigan,
United States in support to ALL energetic and athletic YOUTH of North York Pinoy
Athletic Association (“NYPAA”) who competed in the 21st NABA Tournament. These
boys have given generously much of their time and energy to ensure the success
of their teams, each one of them has exemplified exceptionally strong leadership
and camaraderie, and I hope that you will join me in sincerely thanking and
congratulating them all for their contribution and personal success. Each one
of them moves on to very different and challenging responsibilities, building
on the great experience they have gained over the past few months of practice.
Each of them has the solid support of their respective coaches, who worked hard
training, practicing and mostly mentoring the teams prior to the big event.
I would say this is just a great combination of coaches and players with enormous
support from parents and volunteers.
By
working side by side, although tired from the long-drive, we were able to make
the Friday night buffet very welcoming and as a result, literally broke the
ice among us all. As you know, we had the Casino fundraising a week earlier
to cover the cost of the catering, nevertheless other parents still brought
in some dishes from Toronto to contribute to this banquet, very much appreciated.
After dinner, while most parents stayed in the banquet hall to put a heads up
for the next day, the bonding continued by the pool and by the basketball court
within the hotel premises so that by Saturday morning we all emerged from that
hotel as one big happy family. Thanks also to the Holiday Inn – Troy for it
has ideally provided and accommodated all our needs while away from home.
To others, young or old, this past
tournament has been an experience of a lifetime both on and off the court. The
high level of basketball
is awesome and the amazing people associated who put the teams together are
irreplaceable. To the coaches, you guys are truly something special, definitely
one of the best! And to all players, it sure has been one heck of an unforgettable
ride! Very much different during practices where it was laid back allowing some
quiet times and just have fun. You guys rock!
If you have taken pictures please share them with us. Please forward your Kodak
moments to Arnel Dipaling at arnelrsd@yahoo.com or to myself at vmt_28@yahoo.ca,
so they can collectively be posted at our website on behalf of those who were
not able to join us on this trip and for most of us who were there however unable
to watch other games due to conflicting game schedule and venue.
Special
note of thanks to following: Bebot Silva, although unable to join us this trip,
for sending off our kids with positive and enjoyable experience of learning
and competing in the great sport of basketball, win or loss, be happy! Malou
Silva who is always behind the scene ensuring all paperwork are up to date and
her assistant Evelyn Alog, who’s picking up real fast. The Cunanan Family for
providing the caterer, the food, super! Thanks much to all carpools and weekend
proxy parents. All parents ensuring the players are well fed and energized for
the next game yet someone has forgotten to read the sign “Do not feed the bears!”
Those mama bears and papa bears were sure fully loaded and charged for bouts
of cheering during games after games. What an excitement! At the end of the
day when everyone just surrendered to exhaustion, thanks to Pardinas Family
for the pizza dinner while being entertained by our very own stand-in comedian
Sandra Pebenito. You may visit her and get her autograph at Yuk-Yuk’s (call
her first for show time at 416-967-1111, sounds familiar?).
Coaches, assistants, managers and ALL volunteers, big thanks really. Many of
you went above and beyond what was expected of you. Please know that it didn't
go unnoticed. You made it a very special weekend for our kids and our family
and should feel very proud.
So on behalf of the entire family
of NYPAA, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your dedication
and commitment to making this year another success. Congratulations all for
officially closing the 2007-08 basketball season with another hit! LET’S GO
NORTH YORK...!!!
Yours in basketball,
Vilma Tahsin

The North York Pinoy Athletic Association (“NYPAA”) is committed to providing
boys and girls in our community with the positive
and enjoyable experience of learning and competing in the great sport of basketball.
We believe that every person is important and deserves the respect and consideration
of others. With this in mind, A big congratulations to the project team: Bob
San Juan, Bebot & Malou Silva, Ed Sotto and Roger Tarca, Evelyn Alog, Josie
Osalvo, Tim Sinclair for another successful clinic and inhouse programs, impressively
on time this year!
And
how can we possibly forget the little girl with a great big voice, Sheena Marie
Yadao, who stole the show at the Mabuhay Cup opening, then she’s done it again
at the Antibes 3on3/Multicultural Festival. Here’s another star in the making.
To the lovely Reichel Siscar for representing Miss NYPAA in the Mabuhay Cup
and NABA tournaments and her little aide Erin Mae Acevedo and to Nicole Tingson
Miss NYPAA at the NABA-GTA, stay sweet and keep smiling!
NYPAA also extends its gratitude to our partners in youth program, Antibes Community
Centre and the Dennis R. Timbrell of the
City of Toronto Parks and Recreation for providing the training and practice
facilities. To all our committed volunteer coaches and managers, who have been
excellent role models to our youth by teaching and encouraging the development
of basketball skills and to demonstrate the principles of sportsmanship, self-discipline
and what teamwork is all about.
Congratulations
to one of our lucky supporters who hit the $36,000 jackpot at a $0.25 slot machine
(already a millionaire in Philippine pesos), on our last Casino Rama fundraising
and another lucky $4,000 winner early this year. Both winners are from Mascot
group (Bathurst & Finch). So whenever we send out an invitation to a casino
fundraising, please join us. Not only support a good cause, you'll never know,
the next Filipino millionaire could be you!
On a different note, earlier this year one of our dedicated coaches lost a hand
to a terrible accident. Despite this heartbreaking challenge
his passions to basketball never cease. He came out stronger though from this
ordeal with a new perspective in life. You are an inspiration, Jhun Tan, we
all salute you!
To our sponsors, Dr. Vicky Tubon-Salvador and Visual Image Optical Centre, your
continued support is recognized and greatly appreciated!
MARAMING, MARAMING SALAMAT PO SA LAHAT AND SEE YOU ALL SOON!
