| PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: |
| North York Pinoy Athletic Association is an athletic organization, which was born as a response to the demand of the growing Filipino-Canadian families in the community. It offers programs like basketball and dance classes, which are facilitated and designed in a way that all the members of the family can come together and join. |
| NYPAA’s basketball program specifically, is designed for different age levels to better hone and cater to the different needs of each age group. The following is a breakdown for the different basketball age group levels: |
| Mosquito | (4 to 10 years old) |
| Tykes | (10 to 12 years old) |
| Peewee | (12 to 14 years old) |
| Girls | (15 years and below) |
| Bantam | (14 to 16 years old) |
| Juvenile | (16 to 19 years old) |
| Open | (19 and above) |
| Likewise, the Line Dancing classes enable parents to learn and practice Tango, Rumba, Cha-cha and Jazz steps while waiting for their children to finish their basketball games. | |
| NYPAA’s activities are indeed very family oriented and helps the Filipino-Canadian families in the community to come and spend time together through athletic endeavors. | |

| PROGRAM GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | |
| North York Pinoy’s main objective is to enhance our traditional Filipino values of respect, trust and camaraderie. The Association would also like to promote athletic activities as a more productive means of spending leisure time for parents and their children as well. In today’s fast paced-society, North York Pinoy aim to provide a channel for Filipino-Canadian families to spend quality time together while fostering active lifestyles through sports. | |

| MEMBERSHIP FEES: | |
| There is a $40 annual membership fee for every child who wishes to join. Other expenses incurred during the year like the cost of joining other basketball leagues and other activities are raised through various fundraising efforts such as casino trips, selling chocolates, dinner and dance proceeds and etc. There are also individuals who provide uniforms/jersey through sponsorship and monetary contribution from individual friends. | |
